Base Salary
$167k - $209k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and optimize scalable services and tools that address performance and monitoring problems.
- Build control-plane and data-plane software, APIs, and network products with teams across Networking and the broader company.
- Support existing products and develop creative solutions to customer and product pain points.
- Improve tooling and engineering processes for robust, mission-critical software delivery.
- Establish development and architecture best practices.
- Improve stability, performance, scalability, and production operations through automation.
- Lead work across multiple teams to define API contracts.
- Mentor and help grow engineers within the Networking organization.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a software architect and lead developer building scalable, real-time, distributed systems.
- Significant experience programming in Go and writing unit tests.
- Networking domain knowledge and eagerness to deepen that knowledge.
- Experience with cloud development, containerization, virtualization, and CI/CD.
- Some experience with data-plane programming, including eBPF and XDP.
- A record of delivering broad improvements in stability, performance, and scalability for business-critical systems.
- Experience automating delivery of high-quality, well-tested, production-ready software through ongoing scalable operation.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, or relevant equivalent experience.
- Experience with gRPC, Firewall, DNS, Network Monitoring systems, Temporal, and Kafka is preferred or a bonus.
