Responsibilities
- Turn agreed product scope into working products and testable releases.
- Design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, integrations, and frontend experiences.
- Apply and improve advanced AI-assisted workflows across development, testing, and validation.
- Integrate AI capabilities into products where they add value.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to use data, user insights, and hypotheses to guide implementation and validate outcomes.
- Improve software performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Contribute to deployment, maintenance, and operation while taking responsibility for delivered software.
- Help establish AI-native engineering practices and share learnings across the organisation.
Requirements
- Strong frontend or backend engineering expertise, or both, with the ability to make architecture trade-offs and deliver reliable software.
- Hands-on frontend experience with React or a comparable framework.
- Hands-on backend experience with Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript, including APIs, integrations, and data handling.
- Experience using AI across substantial parts of product delivery, including agent-based or spec-driven workflows, contextualising work for AI, and evaluating results.
- Experience working in a cross-functional product organisation with product managers and designers, using data and user insights to test hypotheses and validate value.
- Ability to use automated testing, debugging, and production monitoring.
- Rust and/or Python experience is a bonus.
- AWS and distributed, event-driven, or serverless systems experience is a bonus.
- Experience with automated delivery pipelines, infrastructure as code, mobile development, experimentation tooling, user experience metrics, or AI/ML product integration is a bonus.
- Curiosity, ownership, willingness to challenge existing practices, and a collaborative approach to knowledge sharing are valued.
