Base Salary
$180k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the design token system, shadcn/ui component library, and Tailwind conventions across the product.
- Define and enforce frontend patterns using React Query, React Hook Form, and Zod.
- Audit frontend tooling and quality, including Biome configuration, Playwright end-to-end coverage, and performance.
- Enforce WCAG accessibility standards and integrate brand guidelines into the codebase.
- Review and improve agent-generated UI contributions using AI coding tools.
- Build conversational, streaming, and generative AI interface patterns for B2B users.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building polished, production-grade product interfaces, with a portfolio of shipped features.
- Experience owning a production design system or component library.
- Deep hands-on expertise in React, strict TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, and Radix UI.
- Ability to translate design intent into design tokens, component abstractions, and lint rules.
- Ability to act as the sole frontend standard-setter in a small startup environment.
- Production experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Familiarity with non-standard AI interfaces, streaming responses, or generative views is preferred.
- Experience with Slack Block Kit, Microsoft Teams Adaptive Cards, CLI patterns, animation, or UI state transitions is preferred.
- Authorization to work in the United States is required.
Benefits
- Annual salary range of $180,000 to $220,000 USD.
- Founding-team-level equity is expected.
- On-site in San Francisco, California, five days per week; candidates must be based in San Francisco or willing to relocate.
