Base Salary
$186k - $223k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance features for the Hinge Android mobile application.
- Triage, debug, and resolve software issues to maintain application stability and performance.
- Apply Kotlin, Android development principles, and design patterns to create effective user experiences.
- Contribute to the long-term health, quality, and evolution of the codebase.
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, product managers, data engineers, backend engineers, technical project managers, and QA analysts.
- Execute high-quality work independently, including when serving as the only Android engineer on a project.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers.
- Participate in team planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and other team activities.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of professional Android development experience.
- Experience publishing at least one application on the Google Play Store.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and a strong understanding of Android SDKs and frameworks.
- Experience with Java in the context of Android development is beneficial.
- Solid software development fundamentals and the ability to create efficient, maintainable code.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
- Demonstrated ownership, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality, user-centric experiences.
- Ability to navigate significant ambiguity and deliver independently.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and help them progress in their careers.
