Responsibilities
- Design, build, debug, and improve software across the YugabyteDB and Meko ecosystems.
- Work on distributed systems, databases, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, APIs, developer tooling, automation, AI, and related technical challenges.
- Build and evolve AI-powered products, experiences, and developer capabilities through Meko.
- Investigate complex problems from identification through implementation and delivery, including prototyping and evaluating emerging technologies.
- Improve engineering productivity, reliability, automation, troubleshooting, observability, and customer experience.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, architects, support teams, and customers.
- Own ambiguous projects, bring structure to them, and deliver production-quality solutions.
- Use AI-assisted development, LLMs, AI agents, MCP, and RAG to improve engineering workflows and product capabilities.
Requirements
- Strong programming and software engineering fundamentals with experience in one or more of Python, Go, Java, C++, or Rust.
- Understanding of several areas including distributed systems, databases, cloud infrastructure, containers, Kubernetes, Linux, systems engineering, observability, debugging, performance, APIs, and application development.
- Experience building and operating production-quality software.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and learning skills.
- Ability to understand unfamiliar codebases and technologies quickly and work across the stack when needed.
- Familiarity with modern AI/LLM technologies and interest in applying them to engineering or product problems.
- Frontend experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS is preferred for engineers interested in end-to-end product experiences.
