$174k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated test systems that scale across network platforms and roles.
- Operationalize qualification suites in CI and nightly regression pipelines.
- Integrate test systems with lab infrastructure and orchestration services for device lifecycle management.
- Improve component reliability and maintainability by eliminating flakiness and reducing qualification runtimes.
- Develop test automation for new hardware and software platforms and improve test coverage.
- Debug cross-layer failures spanning test infrastructure, software, and hardware and drive root-cause analysis.
- Partner with software, hardware, networking, and release-engineering teams to simulate complex real-world network designs.
- Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring of junior engineers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with one or more modern languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
- Experience with networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering.
- Experience building tools for building, testing, releasing, or monitoring.
- Experience with Linux/Unix.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Preferred: experience with distributed systems at scale.
- Preferred: knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking protocols and hands-on experience with load balancers, switches, and routers.
- Preferred: experience qualifying networking hardware platforms and managing cross-team release-qualification dependencies.
- Preferred: familiarity with network test tools and traffic generators such as IXIA or Spirent.
