Base Salary
$198k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services for Strava's subscription and payments platform.
- Develop and optimize APIs for client-facing applications to enhance subscription and payment experiences.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to align technical implementations with business needs.
- Define the technical future of payments and subscriptions in partnership with your Engineering Manager.
- Mentor and support other engineers, promoting a culture of learning and growth.
- Ensure service reliability, scalability, and performance while managing technical debt.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent expertise in backend engineering.
- Proficiency in at least one of Strava's core backend languages: Ruby, Java, Scala, Python, or Go.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases in production environments.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and technologies like Kafka, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Experience or eagerness to learn about subscription billing and payment processing infrastructure.
- Ability to mentor engineers and foster a positive team culture.
