Responsibilities
- Share ownership of internal and hosted production products and improve their reliability, security, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Participate in incident detection, response, mitigation, resolution, blameless post-mortems, and a sustainable on-call rotation using incident.io.
- Define and implement SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, and provide technical input for maintenance and SLA proposals and contracts.
- Develop observability capabilities with a strong focus on OpenTelemetry.
- Build reusable platform components such as GitLab components and Terraform modules while supporting self-service golden paths and production-readiness scorecards.
- Work hands-on across CI/CD, infrastructure as code, cloud-native architecture, networking, resilience, performance, and scale.
- Embed security through secrets management, SAST/DAST scanning, penetration testing support, and vulnerability remediation.
- Reduce operational toil through automation and an AI-first approach while collaborating with development, client, and customer operations teams.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience running products in production as a DevOps or SRE engineer, with growing ownership of reliability.
- Familiarity with incident management and some exposure to SLIs and SLOs; incident.io experience is a plus.
- Solid observability skills, with OpenTelemetry experience preferred.
- Hands-on foundation across GCP or AWS, CI/CD, GitLab, Terraform, networking, and resilience.
- Security experience or awareness involving SAST/DAST scanning, penetration testing, secrets management, and vulnerability management.
- Interest in platform engineering, self-service capabilities, reusable components, and inner sourcing.
- Experience with maintenance or SLA contracts and presales is a bonus.
- Collaborative communication skills for working with development teams, client partners, and customer operations teams.
