Responsibilities
- Develop a distributed, resilient, highly performant network security product for large-scale enterprise deployments.
- Create functional specifications, design documents, test plans, clean code, and thorough tests.
- Own and deliver projects end-to-end with a geographically distributed engineering team.
- Develop new features and improve existing systems for functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Lead technically across multiple engineering teams on large cross-functional projects.
- Identify technical risks and drive pragmatic, maintainable solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical talks, boot camps, community events, hiring, and technical coaching.
- Collaborate with product management, customer support, and platform teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Conduct thoughtful code reviews and design reviews while raising engineering quality standards.
Requirements
- BE/BTech/ME/MTech or equivalent in Computer Science.
- 10+ years of software development experience focused on distributed systems architecture.
- Advanced programming proficiency in Python, Golang, Java, C, or C++.
- Professional experience developing networking or security products and familiarity with TCP/IP, VLAN, IP, ICMP, and DNS.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, multithreaded and multiprocess applications, IPC, and RPC.
- Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and Protobuf.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes environments.
- Strong written and spoken technical and interpersonal communication skills.
- Contributions to open-source infrastructure or distributed systems projects.
