Base Salary
$174k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop Linux kernel drivers for new USB and Type-C controllers in Pixel products.
- Identify and deliver user-facing USB features across product areas.
- Diagnose systemic USB issues and upstream maintainable solutions to Linux.
- Develop scalable USB software architectures and influence SoC architecture when needed.
- Optimize USB use cases for performance and system health metrics.
- Define and deliver Android system software layers, including the Hardware Abstraction Layer and Android framework.
- Collaborate across development stages from schematic reviews through user experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, such as C.
- At least 3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
- At least 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
- At least 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: experience contributing to the open-source Linux USB stack.
- Preferred: Linux-based embedded systems development experience.
- Preferred: ability to read hardware specification sheets and infer hardware capabilities.
- Preferred: experience with the DesignWare Controller stack.
