Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software for high-performance quantum-classical computing systems.
- Build components and interfaces coordinating computation across CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, accelerators, and quantum resources.
- Analyze performance bottlenecks and improve latency, throughput, scalability, bandwidth, and reliability.
- Develop tools, benchmarks, test infrastructure, and observability capabilities.
- Troubleshoot issues spanning applications, operating systems, drivers, runtimes, networking, firmware, and hardware.
- Collaborate with software, physics, electrical, systems, research, and external technology teams.
- Contribute to code reviews, design reviews, technical documentation, prototyping, and engineer mentorship.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional embedded software development experience or equivalent demonstrated experience developing complex technical systems.
- Strong programming experience in one or more of C++, C, Rust, or Python.
- Experience with performance-critical, distributed, embedded, scientific, or high-performance computing systems.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing, debugging, version control, code review, and maintainable software design.
- Experience working in Linux environments and diagnosing complex multi-layer computing problems.
- Understanding of concurrency, memory, networking, data movement, latency, and throughput.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Preferred experience includes HPC systems or schedulers such as Slurm or PBS, CUDA, distributed systems, RoCE, RDMA, high-speed Ethernet, InfiniBand, heterogeneous computing, embedded Linux, firmware, device drivers, performance profiling, scientific computing, real-time systems, FPGA-accelerated computing, quantum computing, CUDA-Q, R&D, and open-source development.

- Annual base salary range of $165,000 to $225,000 plus eligibility for an annual incentive plan.
