Responsibilities

  • Set technical strategy and engineering standards for crawl budget, indexation, canonicalization, robots, sitemaps, rendering, and SEO regression testing at scale.
  • Define the technical strategy and reliability standards for listing-share links, AppsFlyer deep-link generation, attribution, and in-app versus web fallback.
  • Lead SEO and deep-linking incident response, war rooms, escalations, post-mortems, alerts, gates, and runbooks.
  • Define SLOs, SLIs, observability, and on-call models for crawl/indexation and deep-link resolution/attribution health.
  • Coordinate with product partners and partner engineering teams to drive fixes across edge, delivery, routing, rendering, content, and attribution systems.
  • Own log-file, crawl-budget, crawler-behavior, index-drift, deep-link-performance, resolution-failure, and attribution-loss analysis.
  • Lead design reviews, mentor engineers through technical work, and raise engineering standards without a reporting line.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, plus 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience owning technical SEO or crawl/rendering infrastructure, including crawl budget, indexation, structured data, rendering, or site migrations at scale.
  • Experience with federated GraphQL, API gateway architectures, CDN, WAF, and bot-management layers.
  • Familiarity with search engine indexing APIs and dynamic-rendering or prerender approaches.
  • Direct experience with AppsFlyer or Branch/Adjust SDK integration, OneLink or deferred deep linking, and attribution reconciliation.
  • Experience defining SLOs and real-time alerting for customer-facing platforms.
  • Strong backend engineering proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript with Node.js, plus production-service ownership.
  • Hands-on experience with React and Next.js and SSR, SSG, ISR, CSR, hydration, and crawler-rendering issues.
  • SQL and cloud data warehouse skills for log-file, crawl-budget, and deep-link-performance analysis.
  • Experience building regression gates and automated quality checks in a delivery pipeline.
  • Demonstrated cross-team technical leadership, influence without positional authority, and incident-command ability.
  • Fluency with AI coding assistants on production code and ability to evaluate their output.
  • Preferred experience standing up or re-platforming an SEO engineering function and expertise in mobile measurement partners, deep-link generation, resolution, and attribution debugging.
