Responsibilities
- Implement and optimize scalable components of distributed systems and data-plane platforms for large-scale retrieval, storage, and processing.
- Design fault-tolerant systems using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Create performance, load, fault-injection, and brown-out tests to assess system scalability, correctness, and availability.
- Build alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures for proactive issue detection and recovery.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues, develop troubleshooting automation, and participate in incident response and root-cause investigations.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance practices, and documentation standards in multi-tenant cloud infrastructure.
- Maintain infrastructure-as-code automation and follow change-management procedures for patching, updates, and rollbacks.
- Review peer implementations for scalability and collaborate across teams to deliver work aligned with project and stakeholder requirements.
Requirements
- Individual contributor experience consistent with Oracle Career Level IC3.
- Ability to design and implement components of distributed systems with scalability, resiliency, correctness, and operability requirements.
- Experience with fault tolerance, replication, synchronization, performance testing, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
- Ability to develop automation and infrastructure-as-code tooling for cloud infrastructure operations.
- Knowledge of encryption, access controls, security remediation, industry compliance standards, and change management.
- Ability to troubleshoot standard and non-standard system issues, manage priorities with some guidance, and collaborate across teams.
