Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize real-time onboard software for perception, sensor fusion, path planning execution, vehicle control, and safety monitoring.
  • Maintain and improve the middleware connecting lidar, radar, camera, and GPS/IMU hardware to autonomy algorithms.
  • Profile and tune latency and throughput for deterministic onboard-compute performance under resource constraints.
  • Implement ASIL-relevant fault detection, isolation, and recovery architecture patterns.
  • Build diagnostics, logging, and observability tooling for post-drive analysis and root-cause investigations.
  • Write unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines for onboard compute targets.
  • Productionize autonomy research algorithms by translating prototypes into efficient C++ deployments.
  • Collaborate with autonomy experts, hardware engineers, safety leads, and validation teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in software development.
  • Exceptional proficiency in C++ and experience with modern C++ standards.
  • Experience working in a Linux environment.
  • Knowledge of data serialization formats such as Protobuf and JSON.
  • Experience with robotics middleware such as ROS or DDS is preferred.
  • Background in autonomous-vehicle perception, prediction, or planning systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with vehicle data buses such as CAN and Ethernet is preferred.
  • Experience with multithreaded and concurrent programming is preferred.
  • Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment is preferred.
