Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize real-time onboard software for perception, sensor fusion, path planning execution, vehicle control, and safety monitoring.
- Maintain and improve the middleware connecting lidar, radar, camera, and GPS/IMU hardware to autonomy algorithms.
- Profile and tune latency and throughput for deterministic onboard-compute performance under resource constraints.
- Implement ASIL-relevant fault detection, isolation, and recovery architecture patterns.
- Build diagnostics, logging, and observability tooling for post-drive analysis and root-cause investigations.
- Write unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines for onboard compute targets.
- Productionize autonomy research algorithms by translating prototypes into efficient C++ deployments.
- Collaborate with autonomy experts, hardware engineers, safety leads, and validation teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in software development.
- Exceptional proficiency in C++ and experience with modern C++ standards.
- Experience working in a Linux environment.
- Knowledge of data serialization formats such as Protobuf and JSON.
- Experience with robotics middleware such as ROS or DDS is preferred.
- Background in autonomous-vehicle perception, prediction, or planning systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with vehicle data buses such as CAN and Ethernet is preferred.
- Experience with multithreaded and concurrent programming is preferred.
- Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment is preferred.
