Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of technical implementations from initial scoping through live deployment in UK government and secure cloud environments.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for UK customers, providing updates, managing expectations, and resolving implementation issues.
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Kubernetes environments while applying best practices in classified and sensitive settings.
- Coordinate technical requirements across Product, Engineering, and Growth teams and proactively remove blockers.
- Implement and improve processes and tooling to increase implementation efficiency and quality.
- Develop UK-specific deployment patterns and documentation for defence, NATO, and national security customers.
- Use AI tools such as Claude and Gemini for code generation, debugging, documentation, research, and problem-solving with appropriate human oversight.
- Operate independently and maintain delivery quality, pace, and security standards across multiple workstreams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in technical implementation, DevOps, or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Keycloak, and container orchestration, including deploying and managing applications at scale.
- Prior experience in UK defence technology, SaaS, or cloud-based environments.
- Knowledge of UK government security frameworks and accreditation processes, including JSP 604 and Secure By Design.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Experience using Git, JIRA, and standard project management tools.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior government personnel.
- Ability to manage concurrent workstreams and competing priorities in ambiguous environments.
- Personal accountability, resilience, and comfort working autonomously in a distributed team.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Relevant certifications such as CKA, AWS, or Azure are advantageous.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain Developed Vetting clearance, meet UK nationality and residency requirements, and have the right to work in the UK.
- Must be based in the UK and willing to travel frequently to customer and partner sites across the UK and NATO.
