Responsibilities
- Design and build novel approaches for knowledge-grounded LLMs, embeddings, and multimodal modeling.
- Explore fine-tuning, post-training, and retrieval-augmented strategies for foundation models.
- Drive proof-of-concept experimentation involving agentic workflows and GenAI-powered assistants.
- Develop evaluation methods for groundedness, hallucination detection, and human-in-the-loop assessment.
- Lead technical explorations and translate research ideas into rapid prototypes.
- Mentor engineers and scientists as the technical anchor of a small tiger team.
- Influence retriever, ranker, orchestration, and serving-infrastructure design and implementation.
- Collaborate with product and platform teams to transition prototypes into scalable systems.
- Contribute to GenAI product and applied-research roadmaps while promoting responsible AI, groundedness, and data quality.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in ML/AI engineering, with deep expertise in LLMs, NLP, or search.
- Proven experience building and shipping ML-powered or GenAI-integrated products.
- Hands-on experience with RAG, embeddings, hybrid retrieval, or agentic workflows.
- Strong background scaling ML systems from prototype to production.
- Expert knowledge of GenAI ecosystems including OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, and open-source models, along with fine-tuning and serving frameworks.
- Deep technical skills across modeling, infrastructure, and orchestration, including LangChain, LlamaIndex, and vector databases.
- Strong rapid-prototyping and experimentation skills.
- Ability to set technical direction, provide thought leadership, and inspire peers.
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience with multimodal models, knowledge graphs, semantic embeddings, GenAI/search evaluation metrics, or contributions to open-source ML frameworks is a plus.
