Responsibilities
- Own the availability, performance, scalability, monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning of caching systems and services.
- Analyze and resolve outages and disruptions, implement preventative measures, and support 24/7 high-availability operations.
- Develop tools and scripts to automate operational processes and improve system resilience.
- Implement Redis container patterns on Kubernetes using a Redis operator or Helm chart.
- Drive architectural decisions, technical leadership, mentoring, and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Monitor and optimize system performance and resource usage, identify bottlenecks, and integrate reliability practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Manage risk and controls, advise senior stakeholders, and contribute to strategic technology and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience with caching and distributed cache architecture, including Redis, GridGain, or similar platforms.
- Experience implementing DevOps automation with Git, JIRA, Ansible, containers, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and database CI/CD tools.
- Experience with observability tools such as Observe, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Extensive experience with large, distributed, high-performance, high-availability infrastructure supporting 24/7 uptime.
- Good knowledge of Python, Ansible, and Kafka, plus system configuration management for database servers.
- Ability to drive architectural decisions, provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Financial-environment experience, AWS/Azure/GCP cloud experience, Chef, and REST API development are valued.
