Responsibilities
- Define target-state architecture and modernization roadmaps for migrating IBM DB2/Mainframe applications to Microsoft Azure.
- Lead re-platforming of monolithic and mainframe applications into cloud-native, microservices-based architectures.
- Design Java enterprise solutions using Spring frameworks, RESTful APIs, batch processing, and event-driven architectures.
- Establish architecture standards for Azure cloud platforms, integration, security, scalability, observability, resiliency, and operational excellence.
- Design hybrid integration patterns between mainframe and Azure environments.
- Define and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Establish DevSecOps practices covering automated testing, security scanning, deployment automation, and monitoring.
- Provide architecture leadership, governance, technical direction, design assessments, and technology evaluations.
- Drive AI-assisted software engineering and evaluate secure, compliant AI/GenAI adoption.
Requirements
- 14+ years of experience in solution architecture, application architecture, or enterprise architecture.
- Proven experience leading large-scale application re-platforming and modernization programs.
- Expertise in Java 21, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Cloud, microservices architecture, and API design and integration.
- Deep experience with Azure cloud architecture and platform services, including migration from on-premises environments to Azure.
- Hands-on expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes or AKS, Docker, CI/CD architecture, and DevSecOps.
- Experience with event-driven architectures, Kafka, Event Hub, Service Bus, change data capture, and data synchronization.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, resiliency, and cloud-native design patterns.
- Experience with DB2, PostgreSQL, and enterprise data integration patterns.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI/GenAI in software engineering, architecture, or modernization initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
