Solutions Engineer - Data Engineering (Hyderabad)
AstronomerResponsibilities
- Become a trusted expert in Apache Airflow and Astronomer’s managed Airflow platform.
- Educate customers on Airflow best practices and perform Airflow code refactoring assessments.
- Architect and implement scalable data engineering frameworks and solutions using Apache Airflow.
- Review and optimize customer data workflows and Airflow system configurations for performance.
- Support customers and partners with successful post-sales Airflow implementations across varied environments and use cases.
- Collect customer feedback and relay recommendations for Airflow and Astronomer product improvements.
- Engage with the Apache Airflow open-source community and maintain current technical expertise.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of data engineering experience, ideally with Apache Airflow in production environments.
- Experience creating DAGs, writing Python, and building custom Airflow operators and hooks.
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT pipelines, data transformations, and data pipeline optimization and monitoring.
- Familiarity with Cloudera, Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, ETL technologies, or other analytics solutions.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development practices while maintaining engineering quality, security, and human oversight.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for customer interactions across Slack, email, knowledge transfer, and pair programming sessions.
- Preferred experience implementing production ETL/ELT processes using the Modern Data Stack.
- Preferred experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, working on customer engagements, and using Docker and Kubernetes.
