
Principal Software Engineer - Digital Twin and Simulation

Base Salary
$148k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead full-stack development of the digital twin and simulation software stack.
- Define and implement software development, QA/QC, engineering standards, peer review, and team processes.
- Participate in architecture and requirements discussions and translate business requirements into software designs and implementations.
- Support hiring, technical interviewing, onboarding, mentoring, and technical leadership for software engineers.
- Collaborate closely with robotics and other teams to align implementation with their needs.
- Lead agile process definition, team charter, CI/CD discussions, brainstorming, and ideation sessions.
Requirements
- Experience building simulation and rendering platforms, including 3D object rendering and manipulation.
- Experience with mapping technologies such as GIS, terrain mapping, and OpenLayers.
- Experience leveraging web graphics or animation standard libraries.
- Advanced knowledge of designing, building, and using open-source, published data, and APIs such as GraphQL.
- Experience designing, publishing, and maintaining SQL and NoSQL database schemas.
- Experience establishing engineering team best practices and processes.
- Deep experience using AI coding tools such as Claude, Copilot, or Cursor.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Firebase.
- Experience with web automation tooling and deployment through CI/CD, such as Webpack, ESLint, and Playwright.
- At least 7 years of hands-on backend coding experience with languages such as Java or Node.js.
- At least 5 years of hands-on frontend coding experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- At least 5 years of experience with frameworks such as Angular or React/Next.js.
- At least 5 years of experience with agile methodology.
- Good knowledge of Python.
- Experience with Nvidia Omniverse or another simulation platform.
