Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and evolve software components and features for Wholesale Electricity Market Management applications.
- Work independently on team goals and participate in design discussions, code reviews, whiteboarding sessions, and technical design reviews.
- Estimate task scope and effort and deliver high-quality software within an Agile environment.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in development and production environments.
- Translate requirements into scalable and maintainable technical implementations.
- Maintain code quality through software engineering best practices, unit testing, and automation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align software deliverables with project timelines and product standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of software project experience in the energy domain, such as Energy Management, Power Systems, or Wholesale Electricity Markets.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented analysis, software design patterns, and modern coding principles.
- Hands-on experience with Java backend development and Python scripting or automation.
- Experience with SQL databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with REST or SOAP web services and tools such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
- Understanding of Market Management Systems or Energy Management Systems is highly preferred.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or cloud-native architectures is a plus.
- Familiarity with Splunk, Prometheus, or ELK observability and logging tools is a plus.
- Ability to take ownership of medium-sized tasks, solve complex problems, communicate technical ideas clearly, collaborate effectively, and learn domain-specific energy market knowledge.
