Base Salary
$60k - $135k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain environment-monitoring, task-automation, deployment, rollback, and testing tooling.
- Identify and implement improvements to application reliability, availability, latency, and overall system health.
- Analyze and optimize software, server, database connection, index, and driver configurations.
- Monitor internal and vendor SLOs and SLAs and resolve reliability gaps.
- Troubleshoot systems and microservices issues, perform root-cause analysis, and support incident resolution.
- Develop runbooks, end-to-end monitoring dashboards, and synthetic monitoring for critical business transactions using tools such as ThousandEyes.
- Practice incident response and blameless postmortems and communicate incidents to impacted stakeholders.
- Review release and deployment requirements and collaborate with development, technical, non-technical, and client stakeholders.
- Document and promote SRE standards and procedures and coach junior engineers and fellow practitioners.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or related distributed-systems work.
- Experience designing, managing, and supporting distributed systems across multi-cloud environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging experience with microservices architectures.
- Experience with incident management, issue resolution, and root-cause analysis.
- Experience managing multi-cloud platforms and enterprise cloud infrastructure using SRE practices.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, monitoring and observability, containers and orchestration, messaging and streaming, and web-service protocols listed in the posting.
- Experience with Agile development tools and practices, including Git, Jira, and Confluence.
- Strong coordination and communication skills for working with engineering teams, partners, vendors, and clients.
