Responsibilities
- Lead critical, cross-functional engineering initiatives from design through development and deployment while ensuring quality and scalability.
- Participate in technical decision-making and knowledge sharing across multiple teams.
- Collaborate with Product, UX, and other stakeholders to deliver seamless, data-driven experiences.
- Evaluate and introduce tools, technologies, and practices that improve engineering excellence.
- Set an example for service ownership, observability, and operational best practices across engineering.
- Promote high standards for clean code, testing, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a senior, staff, or principal-level role.
- Experience designing and building distributed systems at scale in cloud-native environments using GCP or AWS.
- Deep backend expertise with microservices, event-driven architectures, and REST/gRPC APIs.
- Strong hands-on experience with React, Vue, or Angular and full-stack engineering practices.
- Fluency in system design and architecture, including trade-offs among scalability, performance, and developer experience.
- Track record of shaping technical direction and elevating team capabilities.
- Experience building high-impact, customer-facing, data-rich products.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including influencing without authority.
- Bonus: production experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers.
- Bonus: familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
