Responsibilities
- Automate provisioning and configuration management using infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Create and maintain scripts that build, configure, deploy, and test applications across environments.
- Maintain, support, and enhance continuous integration infrastructure.
- Develop internal tools, applications, and processes that improve engineering productivity.
- Administer AWS infrastructure and services and improve operational automation.
- Evaluate application performance and improve efficiency, reliability, security, and operational quality.
- Determine application and system security requirements and develop security solutions.
- Manage and troubleshoot production applications and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Monitor production services and partner with engineering teams to resolve development and operational challenges.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, systems administration, or DevOps.
- Linux experience, preferably with CentOS.
- Hands-on AWS infrastructure administration using SDKs, command-line tools, and the console.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming and experience with one or more of Python, Go, Ruby, or JavaScript.
- Experience with Ansible, Chef, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- MySQL database administration experience.
- An MS in Computer Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, RDS, IAM, Lambda, DynamoDB, and CloudFormation.
- Experience managing cloud infrastructure with AWS, Azure, or GCP and developing automation with Ansible, Chef, or Terraform.
- Experience running Docker containers on Kubernetes, including EKS and Istio.
- Strong programming skills in languages or technologies including Python, Go, Ruby, JavaScript, Shell/Bash, Java, HTML5, and CSS.
- Experience managing and configuring web or application servers such as Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, JBoss, or Node.js.
- Advanced CentOS Linux operating-system building, optimization, hardening, and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of relational databases, secure and reliable system architecture, and application security.
- Experience with web frameworks such as Angular, React, or jQuery.
- Experience with code repositories and tools including Git and GitHub.
- Experience with continuous integration and related tools such as Jenkins/Hudson, Harness, CircleCI, Maven, Ant, Sonar, and Artifactory.
- Familiarity with cloud DNS, load balancing, and production monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, and AppDynamics.
