Base Salary
$168k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Embed within customer engineering teams, understand their technical and operational constraints, and translate business problems into scalable AI production systems.
- Design and build production AI applications, agentic workflows, orchestration layers, retrieval pipelines, workflow automation, and decision-intelligence systems.
- Integrate foundation models, customer data sources, APIs, and existing applications into cohesive AI experiences optimized for latency, reliability, observability, cost, and security.
- Own production rollout and operationalization, including troubleshooting incidents across AI models, distributed systems, data pipelines, and application services.
- Implement monitoring, evaluations, guardrails, testing, CI/CD, rollback, and resiliency mechanisms for AI systems.
- Identify opportunities to expand customer AI adoption and create reusable patterns, accelerators, and reference architectures.
- Mentor engineers and contribute reusable components, engineering best practices, and learnings to AWS.
- Travel 30–50% to customer environments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years leading design or architecture for new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience mentoring engineers, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
- Experience leading agentic and spec-driven development at production scale; developing AI agents is a plus.
- Experience with AI tools including evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, and prompt engineering.
- Preferred bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Experience building or deploying AI/ML applications at enterprise production scale.
- Experience as a founder, engineering lead, or startup builder with high ownership and urgency.
- Experience architecting and delivering complex, multi-component systems in customer production environments.
- Experience with AWS services, React, TypeScript, Python, and/or Go.
- Experience leading customer-facing technical projects or managing external stakeholder relationships.
- 3+ years of experience in an Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environment.
