Base Salary

$102k - $219k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Analyze functionality, integration, and performance issues across the hardware/software stack for current and future AI training platforms.
  • Design, code, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse software to improve correctness, stability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Contribute to VM features, device virtualization, architectural proposals, and upper-layer Azure infrastructure integration.
  • Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual and participate in on-call monitoring for degradation, downtime, and interruptions.
  • Develop team playbooks for resolving issues and collaborate with Microsoft engineers, partner teams, and industry partners.
  • Improve Azure platform scalability, performance consistency, infrastructure quality, and production reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Preferred: master’s degree and 3+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred familiarity with machine learning, AI infrastructure, operating systems fundamentals or server platform architecture, and accelerators.
  • Preferred 1+ years of experience with High Performance Computing or Machine Learning middleware.

Benefits

  • The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $102,100–$202,200 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area range of USD $133,800–$219,200 per year.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
