Base Salary
$133k - $184k/yr
Responsibilities
- Independently own and deliver features end-to-end
- Design, develop, test, refactor, and scale backend implementations for consumer product features
- Partner with the mobile team to design and build resilient APIs for the member-facing mobile application
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand member pain points and develop solutions
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability and scalability
- Help improve and uphold high technical standards across the engineering team
- Grow into ownership of larger system components over time
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building and operating production software at scale
- Experience with Ruby on Rails or comparable frameworks for designing and running APIs
- Strong understanding of relational databases and caching, including safe schema changes and migrations
- Familiarity with distributed systems fundamentals such as asynchronous processing, idempotency, retries, and backfills
- Ability to write maintainable, well-tested code and improve existing systems
- Strong cross-functional communication and ability to clarify requirements, weigh tradeoffs, and deliver incrementally
- Curiosity, product mindset, and interest in experimentation and measuring impact
- Interest in data-driven systems and third-party data integration
- Fintech or risk experience and startup experience are a plus
