Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain Java-based applications using Java EE and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define specifications, and integrate software components.
  • Write clean, efficient, testable code and conduct unit and integration testing and code reviews.
  • Optimize applications for high-volume, low-latency performance, speed, and scalability.
  • Debug applications, identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot production issues, and provide timely resolutions.
  • Document technical designs and specifications and research and present new technologies and alternatives.
  • Support the CITYTIME system's payroll processing, timekeeping, employee, scheduling, leave, and rule-engine integration functionality.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Java and in-depth knowledge of Java/JEE internals, including classloading, memory management, and transaction management.
  • Hands-on experience with MVC frameworks and ORM technologies and willingness to learn new frameworks and tools.
  • Experience with web services and API development.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and proficiency in SQL.
  • Familiarity with version control systems and build tools such as Ant.
  • Working experience with Fair Isaac's Blaze Advisor rule engine is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in a listed or related field plus four years of relevant full-time experience; or an associate degree plus six years; or a bachelor's degree plus eight years; or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaborative teamwork skills.
