- Build, refactor, and maintain readable, reusable software applications using appropriate development languages, libraries, design patterns, and testing practices.
- Evaluate architecture options and design solutions that meet functional, nonfunctional, business, and technology requirements.
- Own applications and services end to end, including deployment, production operations, health and performance monitoring, metrics, documentation, and business continuity.
- Resolve live production incidents within SLA, mitigate customer impact, conduct root cause analysis, and contribute to postmortems.
- Automate infrastructure and operational work to reduce toil, technical debt, costs, and risks while improving availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
- Improve monitoring, alerting, observability metrics, business KPI tracking, and capacity planning in partnership with development teams.
- Provide architectural guidance to product teams and communicate technical direction to varied stakeholders.
- Coach, guide, and mentor colleagues and stakeholders while driving continuous process and quality improvements.
Requirements
- Master’s degree.
- 5–8 years of advanced relevant job knowledge.
- Expertise in building software applications, software systems design, end-to-end system ownership, technical incident management, operations automation, and observability.
- Ability to apply critical thinking, continuous quality improvement, effective communication, architectural guidance, and coaching and mentoring.
- Ability to manage production services, analyze incidents, improve reliability, and advise on architectural decisions.
