Lead Backend Engineer (C/C++)

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and optimize high-performance backend applications using C and C++.
- Build scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions, reusable components, libraries, and frameworks.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, requirements analysis, and solution design.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship, review code, and drive software design, testing, documentation, and coding best practices.
- Optimize performance, memory usage, concurrency, and application responsiveness.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Project Leads, QA Engineers, DevOps teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Write unit and integration tests, support automation efforts, and troubleshoot complex production issues.
- Contribute to project planning, estimation, risk identification, system reliability, performance, and security improvements.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience developing backend systems with C and C++.
- Proven experience building and maintaining large-scale, high-performance applications.
- Strong expertise in modern C++ and knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
- Experience with multithreading, concurrency, synchronization, parallel programming, memory management, performance tuning, and complex debugging.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, sockets, and communication protocols.
- Experience developing software on Linux and proficiency with Git.
- Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Understanding of distributed systems and familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and direct client or distributed-team collaboration is preferred.
- Preferred qualifications include embedded, real-time, or high-performance computing experience; AWS, Azure, or GCP experience; Docker and Kubernetes familiarity; CI/CD and DevOps experience; Python or Bash scripting; and domain experience in financial systems, telecommunications, gaming, healthcare, or enterprise applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, ownership, mentoring, and technical influence skills.
