Base Salary
$130k - $188k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain complex high-performance C++ applications.
- Own critical system components with emphasis on reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Design solutions using advanced memory management and concurrent or multithreaded architectures.
- Lead code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.
- Define and maintain CMake-based build systems and multi-platform build configurations.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Docker-based containerization workflows.
- Diagnose complex issues with GDB and Valgrind and lead performance profiling and tuning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a Linux-based development environment.
- Maintain automation scripts using Python and shell scripting and interact with relational data sources using SQL.
- Manage Git source code, branching strategies, and release workflows.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and drive technical growth across the team.
- Participate in system design, technical planning, and effort estimation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSM mainframe skills.
- Expert understanding of dynamic memory allocation, RAII, smart pointers, memory leaks, dangling pointers, buffer overflows, custom allocators, and memory pools.
- Strong command of the C++ threading model and experience with lock-free and wait-free programming patterns.
- Ability to resolve race conditions, deadlocks, and thread-safety issues.
- Expert-level CMake experience for cross-platform build configuration.
- Proficiency with Docker and hands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Advanced GDB experience for low-level debugging and post-mortem analysis.
- Proficiency with Valgrind tools including Memcheck, Helgrind, and Callgrind.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience in lieu of formal education.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, interpersonal, independent-working, and teamwork skills.
