Automation Engineer, Manager
State StreetResponsibilities
- Design, develop, and scale automated test frameworks and regression suites across products and services.
- Perform manual and automated functional, integration, regression, performance, UI, and API testing.
- Build and integrate CI/CD pipelines for automated test execution.
- Test front-end applications using Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent tools.
- Test APIs, microservices, Azure Functions, and serverless workflows, including initial cloud-environment troubleshooting.
- Write SQL queries to validate data and support root-cause analysis.
- Interpret automation results, log defects, and collaborate with developers on issue resolution.
- Research and recommend modern QA automation strategies, including AI-assisted testing.
- Mentor junior QA engineers on test design, automation practices, and Agile quality standards.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software QA experience with a strong emphasis on test automation.
- Hands-on individual-contributor experience rather than people-management experience.
- Strong UI and API automation expertise, including Selenium, Rest Assured, or equivalent tools.
- Proficiency in Java and strong programming experience with Java, C#, JavaScript, or Python.
- Experience with test frameworks such as TestNG, Cucumber, or BDD-style frameworks.
- Strong manual testing fundamentals and test-design methodology knowledge.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated test execution, Agile/Scrum delivery models, SQL validation, and defect analysis.
- Preferred experience with performance testing concepts and tools.
- Preferred experience testing complex enterprise platforms, particularly financial systems.
- Experience with Jira and test-management practices is desirable.
