Responsibilities
- Design and build the service mesh infrastructure for hybrid Kubernetes and Nomad environments.
- Drive integration of service mesh with Kubernetes, ensuring reliable sidecar injection and traffic policies.
- Build networking foundation for Cloud Bursting, enabling services to burst from on-prem to cloud.
- Partner with internal teams to address connectivity pain points for developers.
- Collaborate with Gateway and CNI teams to deliver a unified service fabric.
- Serve as a primary escalation point for complex service mesh issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in testing and reliability.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in distributed systems with expertise in service mesh technologies.
- Deep knowledge of service mesh concepts like traffic management and observability.
- Experience running Kubernetes in production and familiarity with K8s networking.
- Comfortable with Envoy proxy internals and control plane architectures.
- Excellent at designing large-scale distributed systems across multiple clusters.
- Fluent in Go, C/C++, or Rust.
- Experienced with on-call rotations and a reliability-first mindset.
