Responsibilities
- Own software design and development for core components and major features of the Block Storage Service.
- Develop highly available, scalable backend services and distributed storage infrastructure.
- Solve complex problems involving distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, networking, and large-scale storage.
- Design broad interactions across distributed systems and work across low-level and backend components.
- Collaborate in an agile environment while delivering reliable enterprise-class cloud features.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience delivering large-scale, highly available distributed systems and backend services.
- Extensive experience developing clean code in C/C++ or similar programming languages.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multithreading, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
- Working familiarity with networking protocols including TCP/IP and HTTP.
- Ability to work as a hands-on engineer and distributed-systems generalist across the backend and low-level systems stack.
