
Principal AI Engineer

- Design, build, and deploy autonomous multi-agent workflows with complex graph-based orchestration, state machines, conditional routing, parallel execution, and error recovery.
- Develop reusable agent node libraries, platform patterns, versioning strategies, and testing frameworks for agent workflows.
- Build production FastAPI applications with asynchronous I/O, PostgreSQL, Redis, enterprise integrations, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, Server-Sent Events, and WebSockets.
- Integrate AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and OpenAI GPT-4, with versioned, templated, and dynamically compiled prompt management.
- Implement Redis-based conversation state persistence, Model Context Protocol and function-calling integrations, and agent-to-agent communication.
- Build hybrid intelligence and response transformation pipelines combining LLM reasoning, rule-based logic, and statistical analysis.
- Implement Langfuse or LangSmith observability for tracing, telemetry, monitoring, performance analysis, and cost optimization.
- Create evaluation frameworks for agent success rates, reasoning quality, output accuracy, token usage, and LLM costs.
- Ensure LDAP, SSO, access control, error handling, data governance, enterprise security, and Responsible AI compliance.
- Partner with data engineers, business analysts, and UX teams to deliver scalable agent workflows and streaming interfaces.
- Mentor junior engineers and participate in architecture reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- 9+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years building and deploying production LLM-powered applications.
- Expert-level asynchronous Python programming, including asyncio and async/await patterns.
- Production experience with LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, Autogen, or similar agent orchestration frameworks.
- Experience with AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT-4, or similar cloud LLM providers.
- Experience building autonomous multi-step agent systems with conditional logic, state management, and tool-calling patterns.
- Experience with Model Context Protocol, agent-to-agent communication frameworks, prompt engineering at scale, LLMOps, and observability tooling.
- Experience with FastAPI, Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong understanding of ReAct, Plan-and-Execute, and tool-use agent design patterns.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills for globally distributed teams.
- Experience in global life sciences, particularly the GPS functional area, is preferred.
- Experience managing or collaborating with offshore technical development teams and international stakeholders is preferred.
