Responsibilities
- Design and maintain end-to-end data solutions on AWS aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Develop scalable data models, pipelines, workflows, and integrations for large datasets across AWS and Snowflake.
- Lead the ingestion, transformation, management, quality, consistency, security, and documentation of data throughout its lifecycle.
- Define tasks for other engineers and drive medium- to large-scale initiatives across a product or product line.
- Coach and mentor engineers, including senior engineers, and lead technical design reviews.
- Develop technical strategy for major components and services and promote architectural consistency and engineering quality.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and solutions.
- Coordinate team members and external contractors as needed to enhance technical solutions.
- Provide global technical support, contribute to publications and presentations, and lead knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Design for high availability, disaster recovery, multi-region deployments, cloud security, observability, asynchronous messaging, and cost optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex AWS or cloud-native solutions and mentoring senior engineers.
- Strong experience as a Lead Engineer, Tech Lead, Cloud Architect, or similar senior engineering professional.
- Deep knowledge of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and hands-on experience with high availability, disaster recovery, and multi-region active-active deployments.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and Python or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Experience designing REST APIs, GraphQL, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with data modeling and database design across SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, RDS, DynamoDB, and Snowflake.
- Experience with vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, RAG architectures, and agentic AI frameworks or platforms.
- Experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation and GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD tooling.
- Experience with observability technologies such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Datadog, and LangSmith.
- Understanding of cloud security, IAM, secrets management, threat modeling, automated testing, and DevSecOps practices.
- Advanced AWS networking experience with VPC design, Transit Gateway, Route 53, CloudFront, and application or network load balancers.
- Experience with Cloud FinOps, cloud spend monitoring, resource optimization, and LLM API cost management.
- Experience with asynchronous messaging and streaming platforms such as Amazon SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Kinesis, or Apache Kafka.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders and build cross-functional partnerships.
- Strong leadership, mentorship, communication, negotiation, innovation, and knowledge-sharing abilities.
- Proven track record of contributing to technical strategy and participating in global knowledge-sharing events.
