Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex project designs, system architectures, and integrations for alignment with architectural standards and strategic blueprints.
- Support Enterprise Architecture Board reviews of annual planning initiatives and off-cycle requests.
- Advise engineering teams and domain leads on practical system designs, architectural gaps, and integration risks.
- Promote approved APIs, reusable design patterns, standard technologies, and the EA Toolkit to improve developer velocity.
- Evaluate solutions for scalability, performance, security, high availability, and SRE best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 8 years of software development experience.
- At least 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
- Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Java, C++, Python, Go, JavaScript, C#, Objective-C, or Swift.
- Experience designing and implementing distributed systems and APIs.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 4 years of technical management or leadership experience directing software developers, systems administrators, or systems architects.
- Preferred: expertise in SRE, high-performance and high-availability design, and modern cloud-based environments.
- Preferred: experience developing, deploying, and troubleshooting full-stack applications handling planet-scale data.
