Responsibilities
- Own the health, stability, and performance of critical electronic trading systems.
- Investigate complex incidents spanning applications, infrastructure, networks, and market connectivity.
- Build automation, tooling, workflows, and self-service capabilities to eliminate operational toil.
- Improve monitoring, observability, alerting, and system understanding before failures occur.
- Optimize latency, efficiency, deployments, troubleshooting workflows, feedback loops, and engineering productivity.
- Learn and support order flow, market data, trading-desk workflows, and the relationship between reliability and investment performance.
- Collaborate with developers, traders, and operations during high-pressure production events.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering skills in Python, C++, or another modern programming language.
- Solid Linux systems knowledge.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP and multicast.
- Experience troubleshooting distributed systems.
- Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and automation tooling.
- Passion for building robust, scalable, and operable systems.
- Clear communication during high-pressure production events.
- Previous finance or trading experience is helpful but not required.
