Responsibilities
- Analyze customer requirements and communicate with OEM engineers to clarify technical details.
- Develop software requirements, architecture subsections, component design specifications, and unit test specifications.
- Design and develop embedded C software for Electric Power Steering systems.
- Conduct technical impact analysis, identify design risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Participate in or lead software design reviews, code reviews, unit test reviews, and integration test reviews.
- Support source-code integration, branching, merging, check-ins, unit testing, and integration testing.
- Troubleshoot software and support integration and final product delivery.
- Support motor control algorithm development and steering-system tuning and calibration.
- Lead and mentor engineers responsible for sub-project activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of embedded software development experience in C and 5–7 years of applicable automotive experience.
- Experience with Electric Power Steering software or system domains, including C-EPS, P-EPS, and R-EPS.
- Experience with AUTOSAR and its libraries, automotive microcontrollers, and embedded software architecture.
- Strong signal-processing skills and working knowledge of feedback control theory and control feedback.
- Experience with motor control algorithms and tuning or calibrating steering systems.
- Knowledge of CAN, CANFD, LIN, SENT, Ethernet, UDS, GMLAN, FNOS, J1939, and IEEE15765.
- Familiarity with V-Model, MISRA, ASPICE, and ISO26262 processes and standards.
- Experience with requirements and UML modeling, AUTOSAR and RTOS configuration, ALM, cross compilers, static analysis, debuggers, HIL systems, and measurement and calibration tools.
- Ability to read schematics, electrical block diagrams, and IC datasheets.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Experience with PCs and application software such as Microsoft Office tools.
