Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable, secure, high-performance backend systems and microservices.
- Lead technical design and implementation of complex features and platform capabilities.
- Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions with product managers and stakeholders.
- Drive architectural decisions across APIs, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and microservices.
- Evaluate trade-offs among scalability, reliability, and delivery timelines.
- Use AI-assisted development to improve engineering productivity and software quality.
- Lead design reviews, conduct code reviews, and champion engineering best practices.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Own technical delivery and coordinate implementation across multiple workstreams.
- Improve system performance, reliability, observability, automation, and developer tooling.
- Contribute to technical documentation, architecture standards, and continuous process improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field.
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong expertise in object-oriented programming, software architecture, and design patterns.
- Experience designing and building distributed systems using microservices and AWS managed services.
- Advanced proficiency in Python.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
- Strong proficiency with Git and modern software development workflows.
- Deep understanding of software engineering practices including testing strategies, CI/CD, code quality, observability, and maintainability.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Fluency in French and full professional proficiency in English are required.
- Passion for solving complex technical problems, mentoring engineers, and improving systems and engineering practices.
