Responsibilities
- Lead infrastructure projects and mentor junior engineers as a subject matter expert.
- Plan, design, build, and scale highly available cloud infrastructure.
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Jenkins, Ansible, Argo CD, Terraform, CloudFormation, Resource Manager, and related tools.
- Manage AWS networking, security, availability monitoring, cloud workloads, IAM, databases, caching, and troubleshooting.
- Build and scale Kubernetes clusters on EKS and improve load balancing, service mesh, availability, response time, and uptime.
- Design monitoring tools, primarily with Prometheus, to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Advise engineering teams and troubleshoot production failures and performance problems.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation and participate in scheduled on-call rotations.
- Develop custom infrastructure and integration tools using Go, Python, Rust, or Bash.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of deep experience with Linux or UNIX systems and related protocols or software.
- Experience leading teams and projects, with strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Proficiency with AWS networking services, including VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Elastic Load Balancing, Route 53, Resolver endpoints, DNS firewall, Security Groups, NACLs, AWS Firewall, and VPC flow logs.
- Understanding of hybrid connectivity, VPNs, Direct Connect, multi-region architectures, and latency-reduction tools such as iperf and sockperf.
- Experience with Ansible, Chef, or Terraform and Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
- Programming aptitude in Go, Python, and Bash, with Rust also identified as a tool-building language.
- Knowledge of MySQL or PostgreSQL database systems.
- Experience building and deploying containers with orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Mesos, or Docker Swarm.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot production infrastructure and networking issues during on-call periods.

- Participation in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation approximately every 1.5 months once fully staffed, increasing to approximately every 3–4 weeks during initial staffing.
