Responsibilities
- Design, architect, develop, test, and deliver high-performance, scalable applications and systems.
- Build and maintain supply-chain microservices and reusable SaaS products supporting inventory management, fulfillment, replenishment, transportation, and customer experience.
- Estimate effort, identify risks, contribute to prioritization, and devise and meet project schedules.
- Improve sustainable engineering practices through high-quality code, documentation, testing, monitoring, automation, and optimization.
- Analyze and test programs and products before launch to ensure reliable performance.
- Maintain systems in compliance with certification, regulatory standards, and technology-based information-security requirements.
- Mentor and coach junior and other engineers and improve software engineering practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and robust technical solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area and 5 years of software engineering experience, or 7 years of software engineering experience.
- The position summary also requests 15+ years of strong design and development experience building massively large-scale distributed systems and products.
- Expertise in data analysis and data engineering.
- Extensive experience architecting and developing real-time, multithreaded Java applications that are fault-tolerant, scalable, and capable of handling high volumes.
- Strong computer systems fundamentals, data structures and algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and problem-solving skills.
- Coding experience with Java, Spring Framework, Oracle, NoSQL databases, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with at least one public cloud infrastructure, such as OpenStack, Azure, GCP, or AWS.
- Experience designing applications and web services in a service-oriented architecture, including RESTful services and API gateways.
- Preferred full-stack experience with Java, React, and Node.js.
- Preferred master’s degree and 3 years of software engineering experience, plus knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
- Excellent organization, communication, interpersonal, leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills.
