Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Architect and build the observability platform across every accredited environment while preventing configuration drift and duplicated estates.
- Drive hands-on OpenTelemetry adoption through collector configuration, instrumentation, semantic conventions, naming standards, and onboarding patterns.
- Automate service onboarding, agent deployment, tagging, dashboard and alert provisioning, and access management through code and CI/CD.
- Design and deploy agentic detection, triage, and remediation with defined unattended permissions, recovery verification, rollback, and audit evidence.
- Own the platform’s AI capabilities, including enabled functions, decision trust, accuracy monitoring, and controls for incorrect actions.
- Build the entity model, dashboards, and SLOs used by leadership and reduce cost per monitored service.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of engineering experience.
- At least 3 years maintaining responsibility for an enterprise observability or APM platform, including architecture, deployment, upgrades, standards, and organizational cost.
- Experience with an enterprise observability platform such as Dynatrace, Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus, or Elastic, including complex queries.
- Experience replacing manual platform work with production automation and shipping systems that make decisions automatically, such as agentic operations, production ML, fraud or risk scoring, or security detection.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry collectors, instrumentation, semantic conventions, and vendor-neutral instrumentation limitations.
- Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD, such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab, and deploying agents or collectors across Windows, Linux, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and network infrastructure.
- Ability to write, review, and ship code.
- Secret clearance is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering.
- Preferred experience includes Dynatrace, Grail, DQL, Workflows, Site Reliability Guardian, Davis, Dashboards, the Dynatrace Terraform provider, automated remediation, multiple observability platforms, DoD Azure or AWS IL5/IL6 environments, multi-boundary platform operations, observability operating costs, and ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
