Base Salary
$148k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define end-to-end reference architectures for AI, data, storage, model hosting, vector databases, RAG workflows, data pipelines, agentic frameworks, and enterprise GPT solutions.
- Build and maintain scalable cloud environments for AI model training, evaluation, and inference with high availability and cost-optimized compute and storage.
- Design orchestration and automation using Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and API Management, including ingestion and evaluation processes.
- Establish standards for model deployment, versioning, prompt management, telemetry, metadata, lineage, model registries, and data governance.
- Partner with IT Security to align AI and cloud architectures with HIPAA, Responsible AI, and internal compliance requirements.
- Lead architecture reviews, contribute to the AI Architecture Review Board and cloud optimization initiatives, and guide solution teams.
- Evaluate Azure and open-source technologies and prototype multi-agent collaboration, knowledge management, and semantic data discovery patterns.
- Coach engineers on architectural best practices and help shape SCAN’s long-term technical roadmap.
Requirements
- Deep proficiency in Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Services, Azure AI Search, Azure ML, Databricks, and Fabric.
- Experience designing scalable, secure, modular cloud architectures for AI and data workloads.
- Strong understanding of network design, IAM, data governance, enterprise integration patterns, model registries, MLOps, containers, APIs, and deployment frameworks.
- Knowledge of LLM architectures, retrieval-augmented generation, embedding pipelines, evaluation frameworks, and multi-agent applications.
- Understanding of data modeling, knowledge graphs, semantic search, data contracts, metadata taxonomies, and lineage tracking.
- Familiarity with secure, auditable, explainable AI design and healthcare data standards including HIPAA, CMS, and PHI/PII protection.
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and translate architecture into actionable guidance for technical and executive audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort balancing experimentation with operational rigor.
