Senior Software Engineer - Forward Deployed

Responsibilities
- Own customer deployments from initial scoping through integration design and production rollout.
- Work with customer operators and leaders to understand workflows, pain points, and edge cases and translate them into technical solutions.
- Build production features and integrations that enable AI agents to operate within complex customer environments.
- Diagnose and resolve field issues in real time, owning outcomes through resolution.
- Travel 20–30% to customer sites nationwide to unblock deployments, map processes, and support successful go-lives.
- Collaborate with product and core engineering to shape the roadmap based on customer observations.
- Develop reusable tools and workflows that improve deployment speed and reduce friction for future customers.
Requirements
- 3–6+ years of professional software engineering experience owning complex, production-critical systems.
- Strong command of TypeScript, Node.js, and REST API design, including debugging and external-system integrations.
- Hands-on experience tuning AI-driven systems, refining prompts, and shaping workflow logic from customer feedback.
- Exceptional communication and judgment when balancing speed, reliability, and real-world constraints.
- Based in Chicago and willing to travel 20–30% to customer sites nationwide.
