Base Salary
$118k - $176k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement monitoring and alerting systems for data platform stability, reliability, and performance.
- Develop and maintain automation for deployment, monitoring, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Optimize data storage, query performance, latency, and large-scale data processing flows.
- Respond to data platform failures, troubleshoot production issues, and coordinate cross-team incident resolution.
- Analyze capacity requirements and scale infrastructure to accommodate data growth.
- Document data platform architecture, configurations, and operational procedures, and provide knowledge sharing and training.
- Ensure data platforms meet security and compliance requirements and prevent unauthorized access and data misuse.
- Collaborate with data engineering, data science, product, and development teams on data product design, implementation, and reliability issues.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience as an SRE, DevOps, or Data Operations Engineer.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms.
- Extensive database management experience with technologies such as NoSQL databases, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency with Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and other automation tools for data system deployment and maintenance.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Programming experience in Python, Go, Java, or Scala for writing scripts and automation tools.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack for monitoring and log management.
- Strong production troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with containerization, microservices architecture, and Kubernetes is preferred.
- Experience designing and maintaining large-scale distributed systems is preferred.
- Experience with data quality management, data governance, or ETL pipelines is preferred.
