Base Salary
$173k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop core functionality for a distributed database system.
- Create architectures and designs that solve complex scalability problems.
- Improve system robustness and performance.
- Implement functional and system tests for assigned areas and overall database quality.
- Debug issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and diagnose defects.
- Participate in release and deployment processes.
- Provide end-to-end ownership from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, monitoring, and product support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 6 years of experience in systems or database internals programming.
- At least 6 years of experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale systems.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in distributed computing, including system architecture, communication, distributed consensus, and transactional protocols.
- Strong understanding of low-level operating system concepts, including multithreading, memory management, networking, storage, performance, and scale.
- Strong Java or C programming skills.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced team environment.
- A master’s degree or PhD in databases or distributed systems is preferred.
