Responsibilities
- Create test plans, test cases, acceptance criteria, and release sign-off plans for audio device programs.
- Design and execute functional, regression, performance, manual, and automated tests for audio features.
- Build and maintain automated test suites, lab pipelines, and device test infrastructure.
- Define and report audio quality KPIs, defect-escape rates, test coverage, and release risks.
- Triage, reproduce, root-cause, document, regress, and track audio defects through resolution.
- Maintain acoustic setups, test rigs, calibration, and device/lab readiness.
- Partner with DSP, firmware, AFE, platform, and software development teams on defect resolution and feature understanding.
- Represent audio quality in program reviews and provide mitigation plans for regression and schedule risks.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and improve test documentation, review mechanisms, and TestRail suites.
Requirements
- 6+ years of quality assurance engineering experience.
- 4+ years of delivering test frameworks and test tools and leading QA projects or initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in a quality assurance engineering role and knowledge of QA methodologies and tools.
- Experience with manual testing, automation testing, and scripting or coding.
- Hands-on experience testing audio, DSP, or embedded consumer-device software.
- Solid understanding of digital signal processing and acoustic fundamentals.
- Preferred: 2+ years of UI automation experience, preferably on mobile platforms.
- Preferred: knowledge of C++, Java, or Objective-C.
- Preferred: experience with objective audio quality tools and metrics including POLQA/PESQ, ACQUA, MOS, and ERLE.
- Preferred: familiarity with EVT, DVT, PVT, manufacturing release gates, VoIP, wake-word/ASR, ANC, spatial or head-tracked audio, and acoustic measurement setups such as HATS and anechoic or lab test rigs.
