Base Salary
$144k - $168k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own quality through design reviews, code reviews, test strategy, and production readiness.
- Design and build frontend-leaning full-stack systems that are small, composable, resilient, and adaptable.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering partners to shape solutions and resolve tradeoffs.
- Improve system performance, architecture, operational quality, and maintainability.
- Champion functional programming principles and immutability.
- Use AI assistants and agents for prototyping, scaffolding, refactoring, and exploration, then validate and harden the results.
- Build and maintain automated unit, integration/contract, component/UI, and end-to-end test coverage.
- Provide technical leadership through mentorship, delegation, code reviews, and direction-setting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience building production web applications and at least 1 year as a senior engineer.
- Expert-level TypeScript proficiency and strong React experience.
- Experience with server-side rendered Next.js or a similar technology and performant component-driven development such as Reshaped UI.
- Ability to communicate complex technical tradeoffs and translate product vision into technical direction.
- Demonstrated experience creating reusable, maintainable systems through refactoring, platforming, or scalable patterns.
- Strong understanding of functional programming, immutability, and the testing pyramid.
- Proven technical leadership through mentorship, delegation, and high-quality code reviews.
- Hands-on experience with Cursor or equivalent AI-augmented IDEs and modern coding models.
- Practical judgment about the strengths and limitations of AI-assisted development.
- Ability to evaluate multiple implementation approaches and select solutions without shipping unmaintainable AI-generated code.
- Strong ownership, curiosity, collaboration, problem-solving, communication, and commitment to clean, well-tested software.
