Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the architecture, design, and evolution of the Identity Graph & Signals platform.
- Design and build secure, scalable, highly available distributed services for identity relationships and security signals.
- Develop graph models, ingestion pipelines, event-processing systems, APIs, and services for identity intelligence and security capabilities.
- Solve problems involving entity resolution, identity correlation, graph traversal, event ordering, data quality, consistency, scale, and low-latency access.
- Make architecture and engineering trade-offs across performance, reliability, security, maintainability, cost, and delivery speed.
- Remain hands-on with production code, prototypes, design reviews, code reviews, and complex engineering problems.
- Build security and operability into the platform through workload identity, authentication, authorisation, least privilege, encryption, secrets management, observability, automated testing, deployment automation, and production telemetry.
- Collaborate with identity architects, security engineers, product teams, data engineers, and application teams across India and Australia.
- Identify and resolve architectural risks and systemic engineering issues, mentor senior engineers, and contribute reusable engineering practices.
Requirements
- Typically 12+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent depth of experience building and operating complex production systems.
- Demonstrated Staff-level technical leadership across systems or initiatives spanning multiple engineers, teams, or domains.
- Exceptional software engineering capability in at least one modern backend language such as Java, Kotlin, Go, C#, or Python.
- Strong experience designing distributed, highly available, and horizontally scalable systems.
- Deep understanding of API design, asynchronous processing, event-driven architectures, concurrency, failure handling, and distributed-system trade-offs.
- Experience building platforms that process large volumes of data or events with demanding reliability, latency, and correctness requirements.
- Strong data-modelling capability across relational, document, key-value, search, or graph data stores.
- Experience with cloud-native engineering on AWS, Azure, or comparable cloud platforms.
- Strong engineering practices across automated testing, infrastructure automation, observability, production support, and secure software development.
- Ability to simplify complex technical problems, turn ambiguous requirements into coherent architectures, and influence decisions across teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Highly desirable experience includes graph databases and processing, Amazon Neptune, Neo4j, JanusGraph, Gremlin, openCypher, entity resolution, relationship analytics, Kafka, Kinesis, Event Hubs, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, identity governance, privileged access management, SPIFFE/SPIRE, Microsoft Entra, CyberArk, SailPoint, Ping Identity, HashiCorp Vault, security telemetry, detection engineering, risk signals, or continuous access evaluation.
Benefits
